The Fragrance Edit
Every guy wants to smell nice…and every girl wants a guy to smell nice. There are about a million and one different fragrances out there and it can be totally mind-blowing if you’re just getting into the cologne business for the first time. I’ve put together this handy list of 4 fragrances I currently love to wear, and exactly when I would wear them.
If you know your fragrances, you’ll know Creed is the king of all brands. Aventus is my all-time favourite fragrance and I am yet to find anything that I deem as better. You literally need only one spray of the bottle and it’s got some serious staying power, and it usually lasts me a full day and I rarely feel the need to top up. It is pricey, but it’s totally worth it. The 30ml bottle that I have is currently available for £115 from John Lewis, which you can check out here.
A change in liquid luxury now, from Gold to Amber. The Scent by Hugo Boss makes a great daytime scent, perfect for spraying on if you’re off to a meeting. It’s got a deep manly scent - the woody fragrance has notes of ginger and leather and the rich colour in the bottle looks fantastic, too. Priced at £54.00 for 100ml, it makes a great daytime/work fragrance. Pick it up here.
My current daily driver is Grey Vetiver by Tom Ford. I am a huge advocate of the Tom Ford brand right now, I think that his skincare products for men are absolutely knock-out, they’ve worked wonders for my skin…because of this I thought I’d give one of the fragrances a go, I have heard loads of great things! It smells so fresh and light and the citrus tones mixed with woody tones makes for a really unique fragrance. You can pick this up here for £66 for 50ml and it is worth every penny!
Chanel is known globally as a brand of class, their women’s perfumes are synonymous with vintage elegance and their men’s colognes are made for the modern gentleman. I picked up their Bleu de Chanel fragrance a few months back and I love it, at £72 for 100ml it’s definitely getting towards the top price bracket, but it’s really worth it and goes great with the suited look. Chanel says the scent reveals itself in three acts, Act 1 is Freshness, Act 2 is Energy and Act 3 is The Senses. Essentially as the day goes on the scent changes ever so slightly, it’s got a great long lasting fragrance that will get you through dinner parties, big meetings and first dates and it’s a fragrance I get a lot of people comment on. You can check out the Bleu de Chanel range, including cologne, deodorant and shower gel here.
