Steal His Style: Oliver Cheshire
With double breasted jackets becoming more and more in demand, possibly the most stylish guy in the world, Oliver Cheshire was of course seen donning a blue double breasted suit a couple of months ago at an event. The vibrant colour is brave, I don't think I could ever personally pull off a coloured suit but on Oliver it looks sharp, dapper and ridiculously on trend. In this post I am giving you a few options to get his red carpet style from the high street.
It might not be vibrant blue but it is certainly bright, this red slim fit double breasted jacket from ASOS is a great statement piece to have in your wardrobe for super dapper events. This fully lined jacket is a pretty good price at £65!
The Blue Double Breasted Slim Blazer from River Island is a fantastic modern alternative to this traditional style. The textured finish means it doesn't look one block colour and has a slight variant of colour woven through. It also features a notch lapel making it insane amounts of classy. Worth a look at £110!
Topman have a fantastic range of Double Breasted suits, including the Noose And Monkey Skinny Fit Double Breast Shawl Suit - this quirky design suit features just one button hole allowing it to fit to you, rather than fitting too square. It’s 100% cotton and machine washable - I personally think it is worth your time at £200 for the full suit!
Not a fan of double breasted?
I think Double Breasted is either one of those styles you love or hate. That’s totally fine - some people, like Oliver can pull them off, other people can’t. I think this Electric Blue Slim fit Suit from Burton is a great alternative if you aren't inclined to rock the double breasted look - it’s fun, bright and you’d definitely stand out against the red carpet, plus at under £70 for the jacket it isn't going to break the bank!
What do you think? Are you a lover or a hater of the dapper double breasted look? I reckon Oliver pulls this off brilliantly, the colour looks fantastic, too! Why not head into your favourite store and try one on before you buy, that way you’ll get a feel for it and see if double breasted suits you or not!
