The gift guide for hopeless men
There’s nothing harder than buying for a woman, let’s face it lads buying clothes is THE most terrifying thing you could possibly set out to do. Christmas is all about cheer and there’s nothing worse than a mascara-stained face of your size 8 (soon to be ex) girlfriend holding up a size 18 jumper you bought ‘because she likes the oversized look’…that’s never going to end well!
Not a problem, I’ve teamed with with the awesome lady-elves over at Topshop to help pick a few things that are sure to be a winner this christmas and avoid that festive break-up!
She may be beautiful enough but…
Why not opt for some beauty products? Topshop have a huge range of beauty products available, including some down right festive nail polishes. I feel far from qualified to discuss nail polishes but there’s some cool colours and some sparkly ones too - also, you can hang them on a tree as a little extra christmas morning gift, you thoughtful chap.
Wrap her up…
Just like a big smiley festive present. Scarfs, hats, gloves heck she’ll love them. Big oversized scarfs are very popular in the female-fashion place right now…if it looks like a blanket, buy it. Check (pun very much intended) out this plaid scarf - it’s £22 and perfect for keeping her wrapped up…I can’t guarantee she wont still stick her ice cold feet on you, though…sorry!
Know her shoe size?
Get her a pair of shoes, Topshop have more shoes than a girl would ever need (ha yeah, you try telling your girlfriend that, trooper!) If there’s something I know about buying a girl shoes, it’s to avoid the kitten heel, girls all have different preferences for shoes but I guarantee she wont thank you for a kitten heel. Chelsea boots are always bloody awesome, and these have a heel…sounds like a win-win to me! You can pick them up for £75.
Girls like tech, too!
Gone are the days of barbie pink and talking only about hair and makeup, most girls actually get tech, too! Why not get your fair maiden something practical like this £25.00 Pebble Laptop Case by Skinnydip, it’s not quite Hermès but it’s still really great quality and I reckon it’s pretty stylish, too!
When you just cant pick…
If you’re not feeling too brave about your choices…maybe opt for a giftcard, they can be spent in store AND online and make a perfect gift idea for the picky girlfriend.
Make sure to let me know what you went for…if she loved it I take full credit, if not…you’re alone, bro!
