Very British Style
If there’s one high street shop that is the epitome of British, it’s got to be Marks & Spencer. The super-power retailer is changing its image bit-by-bit. I know they won’t mind me saying this but even just a couple of years back I would have thought of Marks & Spencer and automatically seen it as somewhere you go when you become a dad and need to start dressing like a 40-year-old businessman to be taken seriously. However, their current collections are aimed at the style-savvy…with some seriously sartorial style thrown in to the mix, M&S are no longer for the man who needs a suit and high-shine oxford shoe, they’re for the young, trendy (people still use that word, right?) Brit pack that totally get style.
Coming up in their Autumn Collections are some really awesome pieces, from Autograph to Best of British to M&S Collection they have all of your style bases covered with some bloody good British style. It’s not just style…it’s M&S style (not even sorry for that one…) Here’s a sneak peek at a few pieces that are coming up this autumn.
The first piece is this parka-style coat from the Best of British range. It’s a super thick and warm jacket and perfect for a British winter (also known as summer everywhere else in the world). The cut is really simple but super effective - this outfit on a whole is super on point for the upcoming season. This coat is available for a cool £349 from October.
Sometimes getting suited and booted is a necessity and if you’ve got to do it, do it in style! This Double Breasted suit from the Best of British range is a beautifully tailored piece. Seriously you’ll be more than impressed with the quality of this suit. I do definitely think you get what you pay for when it comes down to tailoring so it’s worth paying a little more on a suit that will stick with you for literally years. The style of this suit rarely goes out of fashion so you’ll definitely get a good few years service out of it, plus the £699 price tag will guarantee quality you’d find in a bespoke suit.
Okay so you guys know I love sneakers, this is proved in the announcement of my own range of handmade Italian shoes…these runners from the M&S Best of British collection are so on point, I am really in to the vintage runner style at the minute, they are really on trend and the style to me is just really comfortable. You can gain a really good and chilled sport-luxe style with these sneakers…M&S are actually putting together a really impressive sport-luxe collection, it’s a trend that is becoming pretty huge so it’ll definitely be worth taking a peek at when it launches. These sneakers will be available for £99.
Finally, this is a piece I will personally be heading out and grabbing. It’s the £55 dip-dye crew from the Autograph collection, the very stylish Oliver Cheshire will be taking over from king of dapper David Gandy as the face of the Autograph collection as Gandy moves over to the M&S Collection range. This jumper is seriously on trend, dip-dye is no longer just for flower garland-wearing girls at Glastonbury…no way man, you can now wear this popular trend on a crew and why not! I love this jumper, definitely filling my winter wardrobe with these kinds of styles. This is available online right now…here!
What do you think of autumn at M&S? I reckon it is looking pretty darn strong, I for sure will be taking a closer look at some of the pieces, let me know in the comments and on social media what you’re loving! Also hope you’re loving the new website layout!
